Welcome to CRISIS!

CRISIS! is radical, informative, subversive, propagandistic, tongue-in-cheek, punk rock, and committed to counterculture and activism. We’re looking to educate our comrades, comment on what we see around us, and invigorate our peers to take action against fascism.

The name is based on a 20th Century zine published by the NAACP. It was founded by W. E. B. Du Bois in 1910 and featured current-affairs, poems, Harlem Renaissance art, reviews, and essays on culture and history. The title derives from the poem “The Present Crisis” by James Russell Lowell.

Submission Guidelines

CRISIS! is…

• a subversive and openly political art space where artists can become activists and vice versa.
• a regular outlet for artists to express themselves without worrying about • monetizing their output.
• a vehicle for political education, from average people for average people.
• a resource for everyday working young people to get out there and organize.

Submissions should align with the purpose and themes outlined above.

  - Experiences talking about politics with friends, family, coworkers
